Training objectives
- Learn basic manoeuvres for safe and correct use of overhead and gantry cranes with cabin controls
- Manage operational and emergency procedures
- Gain familiarity with hoist up/down, bridge and trolley travel controls
The course "Overhead travelling crane/Gantry crane with cabin control – Practical module" focuses on acquiring the operational skills required for the safe and efficient use of overhead travelling and gantry cranes controlled from a cabin. Through an intensive 30-minute practical training, participants learn essential manoeuvres such as moving loads near obstacles, correct use of hoist up/down, bridge and trolley travel controls, and emergency procedures. Particular emphasis is placed on preliminary checks, including consulting load charts and correct use of accessories such as slings and spreaders. The training is aimed at operators needing specific preparation for using these mechanical means in industrial settings, involving real scenarios of load handling and emergency management. The teaching approach includes practical cabin exercises and simulations of critical operations, enhancing understanding and application of safety regulations in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/08 and the State-Regions Agreement. At the conclusion, participant ability to perform safe and precise operations is assessed, with a passing threshold set at 70%.
The pathway is designed for managers, executives, function owners, auditors and professionals. Lessons use validated minimum study time and a contextual tutor; assessments use server-side random selection of questions and answers, session-continuity controls, camera and local audio-activity monitoring during protected tests.
Traceability and reliability: integrity events are logged for authorized review; automated signals do not determine the result on their own.
Purpose, references, delivery method, commercial terms and certificate value, presented clearly and transparently.
